The Village

chapel_interior_dining_275pxCooking is s referred to as being an art form and when you are in a kitchen absolutely anything can happen. We have tailored our cooking events to fit in with a creative approach and no meal is ever alike. In groups or as individuals our chef/s will inspire you to create masterpieces. From cracking an egg with one hand to mastering a soufflé these skills will be developed and nurtured into main courses filled with an explosion of taste and style. Whether to have fun, be part of a teambuilding exercise or holding a cooking challenge; cooking can be one of the most rewarding things you do.

Here is a selection of cooking events that may inspire you:

  • Themed dinner lunch or dinner events:

    Italian, French, Indian or English - a designed menu set around a time or place

  • A Cooking Challenge:

    Dishes designed around scoring and competition wonderful for teambuilding or competitive friends

  • Dessert Only events:

    Chocolate making, dessert designing and experimenting and of course adding champagne to the menu is a must if you want that indulgent experience.

  • Healthy Eating:

    Designed to cook with organic food, learning about the benefits of healthy living and enjoying ways to make food more healthy( great for stressed employees or people who want to make positive changes in their lives)

We can tailor make any event requirement you have as our chefs are very talented, approachable and great at communicating in the kitchen.

Laura Smith

Laura SmithCordon Bleu trained at Tante Marie School of Cookery. Worked for numerous events catering companies specialising in weddings and private dinner parties. Previous experience includes cooking in London for corporate lunches, cooking on classic steam trains trips and ski & holiday seasons in high-end private chalets.

Laura is passionate about home-grown food and the ability to be self-sufficient and believes that working with seasonal foods keeps cooking exciting.

Photography is another passion and profession for Laura, obtaining a degree in Graphic Arts and Design at Leeds Metropolitan University. She worked for the MOD in promotions and publication for recruitment schemes, expedition photographer for Raleigh in Costa Rica and Nicaragua along with travel and portraiture photography from East Africa, North India and Indonesia.

Kim Somauroo

Kim SomaurooKim has spent many years working throughout Europe, USA and Cuba, due to his love of travel.

On returning to UK to follow his passion for cooking, he enrolled at Tante Marie School of Cookery to do a Cordon Bleu Diploma. Since then he has been cooking at weddings and private parties.

Kim's personal highs were on a trip around East Africa, where he got to see the mountain gorillas and then climb Kilimanjaro, which showed him that anything is possible.

 

 

Where do you cook:

The Chapel situated in the village has its own state of the art kitchen; with a double volume gallery.   You can host and attend elaborate and private events from six to thirty six guests.
